About Our Pastor

Our Pastor’s Story:

My name is Brent Whittle and I grew up in North West Georgia and North East Alabama area through my childhood and teenage years. I am blessed to have been raised in a Christian home and among Independent Baptist Churches all my life. I was born again at the age of six years old by my parents bedside on a Sunday night. Through my adolescent years we moved to Alabama in a rural town and struggled to find a good church. We would drive at times some thirty to fifty miles seeking to find a church home. We eventually settled into a church when I was 16 years old. Through my early teenage years my relationship with the Lord was somewhat secondary as I pursued sports and athletics through middle and high school. It was in my Sophomore year that I was dangerously injured playing football. Multiple MRI’s showed that I had suffered a dangerous concussion near the base of my brain and spinal cord. Multiple doctors advised that I should not play organized sports again due to the possibility of a fatal reinjury. This was devastating news for me at sixteen. It was during the following weeks that the Lord really got my attention. I began to realize I was not in control of my life and it was actually quite fragile. It was at this juncture that my family had found a good church and we were attending the yearly prison revival meeting. The conviction of the Lord weighed on my heart through that week of revival because I knew that I had placed the Lord secondary in my life and that God wanted me to surrender all to Him. I made my way one night of this meeting to the alter and surrendered my life to serve the Lord completely. I told the Lord I would do what ever He wanted me to do.

Over the course of the next six months I wrestled with what God wanted me to do. In time I knew that God wanted me to preach His word but I was afraid. Three to four times the passage in 2 Timothy 1:7 was preached, referenced or mentioned by three different preachers in the course of a month leading up to my surrender to preach. I finally surrendered on May 7th, 2007. This began a new journey in life for me through my junior year of high school. During that school year I had made a radical change to live for Jesus at school. In completing my Junior year of high school I decided through prayer and counsel to finish my senior year through Landmark’s Christian Academy in the summer and begin Bible college at Landmark Baptist college in the fall of 2008. Through Bible college the Lord directed my heart to pastoral ministry. In the 2nd semester of my 2nd year of college I met my precious wife Sandi who lived in Newnan, Georgia. She is an amazing wife, mother, pastor’s wife and ultimately my best friend. I would not be able to have the life and ministry I have without her. We began a courtship in the fall of 2010 to which we married in the fall of 2011 after finishing Bible college. I moved back to Georgia and began to serve in my home church and started a van ministry and taught Sunday school aiding my pastor for 2 years. The Lord opened a door for us to move down to Live Oak, Florida in the fall of 2013 to pastor Northside Baptist Church. By this time we had our first son Wyatt and our second son Micah was born after we moved down to Florida.  I pastored there for 13 months and the Lord used it as a time of growth and preparation. In October of 2014 I was called to pastor Bible Baptist Church.  In 2017 we had our twins boys Eli and Ethan, then in 2020 during the height of Covid we had Rose our only girl. In 2023 we had our youngest child Myles. I have now been pastoring here at the Bible Baptist Church for the last ten years and the Lord has blessed me with a wonderful group of people to pastor. I am tremendously grateful for the Lord’s blessing in my life and ministry.
